The assets of two major shareholders of LPBank Securities decreased by 2,000 billion VND after listing

Closing the trading session on September 3, LPS shares of LPBank Securities (LPBS) fell to the floor at 24,400 VND per unit. Since August 18, when it began listing on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE), LPS market price has decreased nearly 19%.

With each person owning more than 190 million LPS shares, the value of the shares of the two largest shareholders, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc My Anh and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thai, are both at more than 4,600 billion VND. Thus, each person's assets have decreased by more than 1,000 billion VND since LPBS listed.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc My Anh and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thai, the two largest shareholders of LPBankS, are children of Sacombank Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Thuy. Ms. Nguyen Ngoc My Anh was born in 2001, studied abroad in the US, is currently Assistant General Director of Sacombank and holds the position of President of Ninh Binh Football Club. This businesswoman used to be the General Director of Thaispace - a company in the air transport field established at the end of 2021.

And Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thai was born in 2003 and is a bachelor of economics at the University of Massachusetts Boston (USA). He is currently an assistant to the Board of Directors of Sacombank, a member of the Board of Directors of LPBankS and holds the position of Vice Chairman of Sacom Cryptocurrency Exchange (SCEX).

Not only LPS, some newly listed stocks in the last two years also went down after the listing date. For example, VPX dropped about 16%, DMK "lost" 6%, GEL dropped 16% or VPL went down nearly 13%.

LPBS, formerly known as Viettraninmex Securities, was established in 2009. In September 2023, the company changed its name to LPBank Securities. Currently, the enterprise has a charter capital of more than 14,000 billion VND, ranked 7th in the industry.

Accumulated in the first 6 months of the year, LPBS's operating revenue reached 2,717 billion VND, an increase of nearly 400% compared to the first half of 2025. Pre-tax profit was at 537 billion VND, double last year.
