The Central Meteorological Administration stated that today (16th) is still affected by the northeast monsoon, but the moisture has decreased. There will be local brief showers in Yilan and the Hengchun Peninsula. There will be sporadic rainfall in Greater Taipei and Huadong. It will be cloudy to sunny south of Taoyuan. In the afternoon, there will be showers in the areas south of Chiayi and various mountainous areas. Among them, there will be local heavy rains in the mountainous areas south of Yunlin.
In terms of temperature, the low temperature in the early morning in various places today is about 24 to 25 degrees. During the day, the high temperature in the northern and eastern half is about 28 to 30 degrees, which is more comfortable. The central and southern parts can reach 32 and 33 degrees, which is relatively hot, and the ultraviolet rays are strong around noon.

In terms of weather on the outlying islands, Penghu is sunny and cloudy at 26 to 29 degrees; Kinmen is sunny and cloudy at 24 to 30 degrees; Matsu is sunny and cloudy at 25 to 27 degrees.
The Meteorological Administration pointed out that Tropical Depression No. 28 (TD28), located over the sea east of northeastern Guam, is centered 3,120 kilometers east of Eluanbi at 2 o'clock today. It has the tendency to develop into a mild typhoon and will move to the sea south of Japan in the future. It will not have a direct impact on Taiwan's weather.
In terms of air quality, the Yilan and Huadong air quality areas are rated as "good"; the northern, Zhumiao, central, Gaoping air quality areas and Penghu are at the "average" level; the southern air quality areas of Yunjia, Matsu and Kinmen are at the "orange alert" level.
The Meteorological Administration predicts that the northeast monsoon will weaken tomorrow (17th). Tomorrow and Friday (18th), there will be local short-lived showers in greater Taipei, the eastern half of the region and the Hengchun Peninsula. It will be cloudy to sunny in other areas. In the afternoon, there will be scattered short-lived showers in the southern areas and the mountainous areas north of central China.
On Saturday and next Sunday (19th and 20th), there will be scattered short-lived showers on the north coast of Keelung, the northeastern areas and the greater Taipei mountainous areas. It will be cloudy to sunny in other areas. There will be scattered short-lived showers in the southern areas and other mountainous areas in the afternoon.
Next Monday and Tuesday (21st and 22nd) it will be mostly cloudy to sunny everywhere, with only sporadic short-lived showers on the north coast and northeastern areas of Keelung, and sporadic short-lived showers in the southern areas and central, eastern, and southeastern mountainous areas in the afternoon.
