Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Long requested units to continue to expand the investigation and strictly handle those involved in the three cases of Huan Hoa Hong, Phu Le and Hai Sapa TV.
On September 4, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister, Head of the Police Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security, sent a letter of praise to the Directors of C05, C01 and the Director of Hanoi City Police, Lao Cai Province.
Recently, these units have destroyed three lines run by Bui Xuan Huan and his wife (Huan Hoa Hong), Le Van Phu and his wife (Phu Le) and Vu Hoang Hai and his wife (Hai Sapa TV).
According to the Ministry of Public Security, these rings take advantage of cyberspace to commit fraudulent acts of appropriating property, deceiving customers, violating accounting regulations and illegally issuing invoices.
The investigation agency arrested and prosecuted 17 people and seized many related documents and evidence.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long assessed that the discovery of the cases demonstrated the coordination between professional units of the Ministry of Public Security and local police, contributing to maintaining order, deterring, preventing crime and preventing negative effects on young people.
The Deputy Minister requested units to continue to expand the investigation, consolidate documents and evidence to strictly handle those involved.
Huan Hoa Hong was accused of hiding more than 300 billion VND in revenue
Huan Hoa Hong and his wife and three other people were prosecuted by the Office of the Police Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security to investigate the crime of violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences. As for Huan, he was further investigated for the crime of fraudulent appropriation of property.
The investigation agency determined that this group was trading perfume online but left off the books a temporary revenue of more than 300 billion VND.
Huan was also accused of posting information showing that he knew the lottery results in advance, causing many people to trust him to transfer billions of dong by choosing the numbers. When these people didn't win and asked for their money back, Huan took over.
Phu Le and his wife used 10 accounts to receive more than 107 billion VND
In the case related to Phu Le, Hanoi City Police determined that this couple used 10 personal accounts to receive more than 107 billion VND in sales but did not fully account for it, and at the same time created false invoices to hide revenue and reduce tax obligations.
The physiological enhancement product Loramen produced by Phu and his accomplices was then advertised, earning more than 11.6 billion VND.
Currently 10 defendants have been prosecuted.
Hai Sapa TV sells imported buffalo as a 'Northwest specialty'
In the third case, Lao Cai Provincial Police prosecuted Hai Sapa TV and his wife and another person for allegedly deceiving customers or violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences.
Hai was accused of using influence on social networks to advertise dried buffalo meat made from frozen meat imported from India as "Northwest specialty dried buffalo meat".
The investigation agency is continuing to clarify the cases.
