Fatal shots in a tea room in Marl: One man killed, two injured

A 39-year-old man was killed in shots fired in a tea room in Marl, North Rhine-Westphalia, on Monday night. He is said to have been hit by more than five bullets, reports “Bild”. Accordingly, a witness tried to resuscitate him until the emergency doctor arrived. But the rescue workers could only determine his death. As the newspaper further reports, the victim was born in Beirut.

Two other men aged 35 and 40 were injured, as the police in Recklinghausen and the Essen public prosecutor announced. Several witnesses alerted the police shortly after 3 a.m. about the shots in the tea room in the Hüls district.

Emergency services came across the killed 39-year-old from Recklinghausen and the two other injured people from Oberhausen and Herne. The two injured people were taken to hospital in an ambulance. Several people fled the scene. The police began investigating the reasons behind the crime and set up a murder squad. The area around the crime scene was still cordoned off on Monday morning, reports “Bild”.
