Turin, seven-year-old boy hit by bicycle dies

The seven-year-old boy who was hit this morning by a car while he was cycling in Corso Regina Margherita in Turin died this afternoon at the Regina Margherita children's hospital.

His condition immediately appeared desperate: the little boy had arrived in cardiac arrest. The child had been hit while he was going to school with his father: he was rescued shortly after 8am by the 118 health workers and was intubated and transported to the hospital in code red.

After the resumption of cardiac activity he was taken to the operating room. He had very serious injuries, including head and abdominal injuries. In the afternoon he died despite doctors' attempts to save him.

According to the first reconstruction, the child was on a bicycle when he was hit by a car on the Corso Regina Margherita service road, in the stretch between Via Montebello and Via Tarino.
