Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş was arrested, YENİ Party held a rally in front of the city hall

Following the arrest of Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş and the operations against the municipal council members, a "Üsküdar's Will Cannot Be Ignored" meeting was held in front of the city hall with the call of the YENİ Party.

Speaking here, Çelik called on the four municipal council members who switched to AKP before the deputy mayor election to be held tomorrow. Çelik said:

"My first call is to our four council members who were transferred outside the borders of Istanbul today. We know where they are now. They took them to a point outside Istanbul just so that their relatives would not contact them, just so that their families would not contact them. They have our state officials and police officers on their heads. They will come here tomorrow morning."

"PUT YOUR HANDS ON YOUR CONSCIENCE WHEN USING YOUR VOTE"

Claiming that four council members changed parties under judicial pressure, Çelik continued his words as follows:

"We know what kind of judicial pressure you are under. We know what was offered to you. We know under what conditions and conditions you made this transfer. You will come here tomorrow. Once again, put your hand on your conscience while casting your votes and decide according to your conscience. It is not too late for anything. Come, defend the will of the people of Üsküdar."

Çelik said that two municipal council members were arrested so that they would not vote in the deputy mayor election. Stating that Amine Cansu Çelik and Ekrem Baki were detained, Çelik said, "Our two brilliant council members were detained just so that they would not vote in the Deputy Speaker election. They were arrested after their detention period expired."

CALL TO AKP AND MHP MEMBERS

Çelik also addressed the AKP and MHP municipal council members and said, "Do not be a party to this mistake. Do not violate the rights of people. Do not infringe on the rights of the people of Üsküdar. When you go to the ballot box, put your hand on your conscience and decide with your conscience."

DEDETAŞ: WE DID NOT GIVE UP OUR PRINCIPLES

In the letter she sent to the meeting, detained Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş said, "As elected officials who believe in the will of the nation, democratic rights and the rule of law, we have not given up on our principles."

Dedetaş thanked the council members who fought for the election to be held tomorrow and those who supported them.

NEW Party Istanbul Deputy Suat Özçağdaş criticized President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's approach to the election results and said, "In Tayyip Erdoğan's world, national will exists only when he wins. If he loses and his candidates do not win, this will is not a will to be respected. Hey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, fear is of no use to death. You will lose." he said.
