Another 69 people are listed as missing and the search for them continues.

The search operation has been going on for 16 days and has been extended for another seven days.

The death toll in the crash of the passenger ship Virgo Transport 8 off the coast of the Indonesian island of Kalimantan has reached 66 people, another 69 are still missing, the Kompas portal reports, citing the representative of the Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Sudayana.

“According to the list, there were 243 people on board, 174 were found. Of these, 108 survived, 66 died, and we continue to search for another 69,” Sudayanu said.

According to him, the search operation has been going on for the 16th day. Rescuers suggest that some of the passengers may remain inside the sunken ship. Divers aboard a search and rescue ship have been dispatched to the crash site.

At the same time, searches are being conducted along the coast of Central Kalimantan province, including in the districts of Seruyan, Suka-mara and West Kotawaringin.
