The US Unification Committee decides to hold a hearing to review whether to cancel approval for the change of Eugene ENT YTN's largest shareholder.

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Sang-yong Han = The Korea Media and Communications Commission decided to hold a hearing to review whether to cancel the approval of change to Eugene E&T's YTN [040300] largest investor.

On the morning of the 28th, the US-Visit Unification Committee held its 38th general meeting at the Gwacheon Government Complex and announced that it had decided on the 'Hearing for Eugene E&T Co., Ltd.'

The hearing is a procedure to listen to the opinions of the parties and confirm the facts and legal issues before deciding whether to cancel the existing change approval. This decision does not mean canceling the change approval.

At the hearing, the U.S. Unification Committee plans to examine whether the decision on the two-member system of the old Korea Communications Commission and the participation in the deliberations by the members subject to the request for recusal were legal, and whether there were any violations of laws or defects in the integrated sale of shares, the request for submission of additional data, and the approval review process.

At this meeting, opinions were divided among the attending members.

Commissioners Seong-ok Yoon and Shin-hwan Ryu emphasized the need for a hearing, saying that procedural illegalities raised during the change approval process must be investigated and a conclusion reached.

On the other hand, Commissioner Lee Sang-geun expressed his opposition, saying that it would be hasty to proceed with a hearing before a final ruling is made in the related lawsuit.

Vice Chairman Go Min-soo, who presided over this meeting, said, “A hearing is not a procedure to predict the outcome,” and emphasized that the person presiding over the hearing must independently investigate the facts and evidence.

As a result of the vote, Commissioners Go Min-soo, Ryu Shin-hwan, and Yoon Seong-ok agreed, and Commissioner Choi Soo-young conditionally approved.

Commissioner Lee Sang-geun opposed the motion, and the motion was passed with 4 in favor and 1 against.

Kim Jong-cheol, chairman of the US Visiting Unification Committee, did not participate in the deliberation and resolution, considering his past history of submitting opinions related to this issue.

However, he remained in the meeting as a member present to calculate the quorum, and Vice Chairman Ko acted as chairman.

Previously, the U.S. Visit to the United States submitted the same agenda on the 21st of last month, but the discussion and resolution could not proceed due to quorum issues as members Choi Soo-young and Lee Sang-geun left without participating in the deliberation and resolution.
