Exercise "Aleksandros" from Greece: 70 Warplanes in Action

According to Kathimerini newspaper, the exercise called "Aleksandros" tested the intervention speed, capability and degree of preparedness of the Greek Armed Forces in the air, on land and at sea.

In the scenarios discussed within the scope of the exercise, the units took duty as fleet elements within 5 minutes, while special operations units and special forces were dispatched to different parts of the country.

Rapid deployment of special operations units to navy ships, landing of troops on small islets and uninhabited rocks, and night capture scenarios were also discussed in the exercise.

Land troops in the Evros region and the islands were placed on full alert, and 70 warplanes were activated to meet the requirements of the exercise.

The exercise, which aimed to test the Greek Armed Forces' capacity to respond in a sudden, coordinated and effective manner, was held both at night and during the day.
