According to the spokesman of the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, Prosecutor Piotr Antoni Skiba, the former director of the Polish Film Institute, Radosław Ś, was charged with causing significant property damage in business transactions, in the amounts of PLN 1,357,544.76 and PLN 1,307,374.00, as well as making false statements. and former chief accountant Małgorzata K.

"The charges brought by the prosecutor's office in September 2026 concern acting to the detriment of the interests of the Polish Film Institute, including causing great damage," the Central Anticorruption Bureau said in a statement.

He was to use the company card to pay not only for business expenses

According to the findings of the investigation conducted by officers of the CBA Branch in Łódź, the former director of the Polish Film Institute used company payment cards to finance expenses unrelated to the institution's activities. This was to result in property damage amounting to over PLN 1 million.

"Radosław Ś. did not plead guilty to the acts he was accused of, refused to provide explanations and answer questions. He declared that after reviewing the case materials, he would submit explanations and requests for evidence," noted prosecutor Skiba.

According to the CBA, in the years 2021-2023 the suspect did not return to the state budget earmarked subsidies intended to support audiovisual productions. This resulted in property damage exceeding PLN 1 million.

One person pleaded guilty to the crimes he was accused of

Justyna A., former deputy chief accountant at PISF, and former acting head of the Film Production and Film Project Development Department at the Polish Film Institute, Marta G.-Ł. In turn, Zuzanna O, former deputy head of the Production Department at the Polish Film Institute, was charged with using a document confirming untruth.

Justyna A. and Marta G.-Ł. they did not plead guilty to the alleged acts and refused to provide explanations, and Zuzanna O. admitted to the acts she was accused of and provided extensive explanations.

Until the substantive conclusion of the investigation, the case secretary did not consent to publishing the content of the allegations.

The Warsaw district prosecutor's office initiated an investigation into the PISF in October 2024.
