A 25-year-old man was detained with a Molotov cocktail at a gas station

The police received a report about unusual behavior of a customer at a gas station at Tuwima Street.

The man filled the bottle with fuel, screwed it on and wanted to leave the station by taxi. However, the driver did not want to let him into the vehicle, so the 25-year-old put the glass container into a waste segregation bin. The officers emphasize that there was a piece of material partially soaked in a flammable liquid in its inlet.

The officers who dealt with the case quickly managed to determine that a similar situation had occurred the day before, around 3:40 a.m., at another station. The man was caught on September 25. He was charged with exposing a person to direct danger of loss of life or serious bodily harm. He faces a penalty of up to 3 years in prison. The court decided to temporarily arrest the man for two months.

The police reminds that making Molotov cocktails is extremely dangerous because gasoline and other fuels evaporate quickly. Just a spark is enough to cause an explosion of just the vapors.
