A Pole was detained after a fatal incident in Malta

The incident took place on Sunday morning at Spinola Gardens on St George's Road, opposite several establishments, reports the Times of Malta. According to the Maltese police, the report was received around 6:30.

The body of a 31-year-old man, a Moroccan citizen, was found at the scene. Preliminary findings indicate that there was an argument between two people before his death.

The two men allegedly got into an argument, during which the Moroccan was punched and fell to the ground, hitting his head on the concrete.

According to information provided by investigators, no weapon was used during the incident. The victim allegedly suffered a blow to the back of the head. The exact cause of death is to be determined during further proceedings.

A Pole detained in Malta

The police secured the area, and homicide officers and forensic experts worked on site.

About an hour and a half after finding the body, officers detained a 27-year-old Polish citizen - a professional boxer. The man was located thanks to recordings from surveillance cameras near St George's Bay.

According to the "Malta Today" portal, the detainee was staying in Malta as a tourist and was to leave the island on Monday. He is interrogated by the police. No information about formal charges has been presented so far.
