Father tying his daughter to the bed with a chain in Zonguldak: "He who does not beat his daughter will beat his knee"

Selahattin T. and his wife Sevil T., who allegedly beat their daughter Sıla T. (17) and tied her to the bed with a chain on the grounds that she was seeing her friends and going to the shopping mall without permission, were taken into custody in Zonguldak. Selahattin T., one of the couple who was sent to the courthouse after their procedures, asked the journalist: "Did you chain your daughter?" He answered the question: "He who does not beat his daughter will beat his knee." Sıla T. and her three siblings, who had marks of beating on their bodies, were taken under state protection.

The incident took place in Cumhuriyet District of Elvanpazarcık town. In the report made to the 112 Emergency Call Center, it was claimed that Sıla T. was beaten and chained to the bed by her father, Selahattin T. Upon notice, gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the address. Gendarmerie teams entered the house where Sıla T. entered with her grandmother and found the young girl handcuffed and chained to the bed.

THE SISTERS WERE TAKEN UNDER STATE PROTECTION

Sıla T. and her 3 siblings underwent a medical check-up at the hospital. During the checks, it was determined that all of the siblings had signs of beating. 4 siblings were taken under state protection.

Following the incident, mother Sevil T. and father Selahattin T. were taken into custody. In their statements to the gendarmerie, it was claimed that the family said that their daughter went to the shopping mall without permission, met with someone and tried to escape, and that they chained them up because they wanted to prevent them. The mother and father, whose statements at the gendarmerie were completed, were sent to the courthouse. A journalist asked, "Did you chain your daughter?" Father Selahattin T. answered the question by saying, "He who does not beat his daughter will beat his knee." In response to the same question from the journalist, mother Sevil T. said, "No, but you are offending." The proceedings against the mother and father at the courthouse are continuing.
