Representatives of planting entities, grain merchants, and processing enterprises in the Huaihe River production area discussed the high-quality development path of the glutinous rice industry cluster.

As the core glutinous rice production area along the Huaihe River, Huaiyuan currently has a glutinous rice planting area of ​​900,000 acres, an annual output of 500,000 tons, and gathers 127 processing companies of various types. The annual output value of the entire industry chain has exceeded 11 billion yuan.

Technology empowers the glutinous rice industry to stabilize production and improve quality. According to Liu Jian, chief agronomist of Longkang Farm Co., Ltd. of Anhui Provincial Reclamation Group, all the 10,000 acres of glutinous rice planted on the farm this year have been booked by downstream companies before sowing. "We have joined forces with universities to build a science and technology alliance, select and breed excellent varieties, promote green planting technologies, and help farmers reduce costs and increase income."

While improving efficiency at the source, Huaiyuan simultaneously promotes industrial standardization and intensive transformation to open up circulation and transaction links. Shao Zhili, the person in charge of operations of the Huaiyuan Glutinous Rice Trading Center, said that the trading center has been connected to the bidding trading system and has opened a special online bidding session for Huaiyuan Glutinous Rice, creating a complete closed trading loop of online listing bidding and offline delivery.

The standardized upgrade of the planting side has provided "reassurance" for downstream food processing companies. Meng Huan, the purchasing manager of Anhui Liangyue Dachixiong Food Technology Co., Ltd., said frankly that in the past, under the scattered planting model of farmers, it was difficult to uniformly control the quality of raw materials; now, the planting side is moving towards standardization and intensification, the supply of raw materials is stable and the quality is uniform, and the production side of the enterprise is more secure.

Relying on the foundation of the glutinous rice industry, Huaiyuan continues to extend the food processing industry chain. Various products such as glutinous rice crispy rice, Shaomai, glutinous rice chicken, and glutinous rice balls have been sold to more than 20 countries and regions.

This conference also achieved cross-regional cooperation results. The Management Committee of the Jiamusi National Agricultural High-tech Industry Demonstration Zone in Heilongjiang signed a contract with Huaiyuan County to build a glutinous rice industry collaborative system and implement the "Wannuo Northern Planting" order planting model. The two countries will give full play to their complementary advantages in production and sales areas, open up a north-south grain transportation channel, and explore new paths for cross-regional coordinated development of the glutinous rice industry.
