新竹市議會近日關心「大新竹輕軌」建設議題,市長高虹安今表示,大新竹輕軌計畫可行性研究已依中央審查意見及行政院「桃竹苗大矽谷計畫」整合新竹縣、市輕軌紅藍線路網,並於112年底與新竹縣政府及科學園區公會簽署合作備忘錄,目前由市府統籌辦理紅、藍線整合可行性研究,且已成立輕軌整合工作小組,密切召開工作會議穩定推進,預計116年底前完成可行性研究報告提送交通部審查,後續依中央審查意見辦理,以加速核定,推動綜合規劃及後續相關作業。
高虹安指出,市府113年起推動「先導公車」行駛輕軌紅線廊帶,並同步於沿線布建YouBike轉乘站點,提供市民現階段更多公共運輸選擇,也透過實際營運蒐集運量及交通需求數據,培養民眾公共運輸使用習慣,作為未來輕軌建設及營運規劃的重要參考。

高虹安表示,南寮地區已納入輕軌整體路網,市府也支持將香山納入大新竹整體捷運路網,並持續為地方爭取聯外軌道建設。市府積極推動香山地區建設,包括R1道路、客雅大道向東延伸及香山綜合運動場等,隨著相關建設逐步完成,預期將帶動地區發展、增加運輸需求及運量效益,也有助提升未來軌道建設的財務可行性。市府除持續推動優先路網紅、藍線整合,也將持續掌握香山地區發展情形,評估將輕軌延伸香山納入整體路網規劃。
