Rostec has revealed the capabilities of the Citadel and TKB-1167 anti-drone systems

The ZAK-30 Citadel anti-aircraft artillery system and the TKB-1167 machine gun system, which are designed to combat drones, are capable of performing tasks automatically. The advantages of the systems were mentioned by the industrial director of the arms cluster of the Rostec state corporation Bekhan Ozdoev in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He noted that machine gun and cannon systems have their own niche in the field of anti-drone protection, which is not covered by electronic warfare systems. “TKB-1167 and Citadel are not just anti-aircraft guns. In fact, these are two anti-aircraft artillery robots that are automated at all stages - from target detection to its destruction,” said a Rostec representative.

Ozdoev added that the Citadel and TKB-1167 include radar stations and thermal imagers, which allow them to detect targets at any time of the day. The ZAK-30 is capable of using shrapnel ammunition with programmable detonation. According to the agency’s interlocutor, with the fire of such shells “you can write a word in the air.”
