U.S. Visit Committee conducts media ethics training for youth across the country

Learning deliberation regulations and experiencing mock deliberation… Cultivating a sense of responsibility for future creators

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Hyunmin Yoo = The Broadcasting Media and Communications Standards Commission (USA) announced on the 4th that it will conduct media ethics education for youth across the country.

‘Media ethics education for prospective creators’ will be conducted starting today for schools recommended by six offices of education, including Gangwon, Chungbuk, Daegu, Gwangju, Gyeongbuk, and Daejeon, as well as high schools nationwide that have applied in advance.

The training consisted of experiential courses such as understanding media ethics, learning about broadcasting and communications deliberation regulations and cases of violations, and practicing mock broadcasting and communications deliberation.

Students will examine cases of illegal and harmful information, such as sexual deepfakes and discrimination and hate speech, experience deliberation procedures, and develop discernment and responsibility in responding to illegal and harmful information.

The U.S. Visit Committee announced that it plans to expand participation opportunities for schools in cooperation with the Office of Education.
