Ke Zhien visits Kuanhong Art to benefit from Kaohsiung Concert Economy 2.0

Kaohsiung's concert economy has made a name for itself. Kuomintang's Kaohsiung mayoral candidate Ke Zhi'en recently paid a visit to Kuanhong Arts and asked chairman Lin Jianhuan for advice on "Kaohsiung's next stage of concert economy." They had in-depth exchanges from city branding and venue planning to transportation and tourism integration. Ke Zhien said that she was no stranger to the entertainment industry as a host of programs such as "It's a Wonderful World" and "Entertainment News" in the past. After entering academic education and public affairs, she realized that what the government should do is to understand industry needs and help solve problems. Lin Jianhuan shared that in addition to continuing to strive for performances by international artists, Kaohsiung should also consider creating brand events that are recognizable to Kaohsiung and can be operated in the long term, so that Kaohsiung is not just a stop on international tours, but a performance destination worthy of a special trip. He also pointed out that in addition to large venues in Kaohsiung, medium-sized venues and complete supporting facilities are equally important. Most of the existing venues are outdoors without fixed roofs. Extra time must be reserved for the installation and dismantling of large-scale performances. The efficiency of venue use and future capacity must also be included in planning.

Ke Zhien believes that these are the problems that "Concert Economy 2.0" must face. In the future, in addition to continuing to deepen existing brands such as Dagang Open Concert, we must also help more activities with Kaohsiung characteristics gradually take shape, and integrate venues, transportation, aviation, accommodation, catering, tourism industry and city marketing, so that Kaohsiung can further transform from a "concert city" to a "city worth traveling to Kaohsiung for an event."
