Sokcho City holds a report on major business plans for 2027 to prepare for next year’s administration

Review of business priorities and financial investment adequacy before preparing the main budget

(Sokcho = Yonhap News) Reporter Ryu Ho-jun = Sokcho City, Gangwon-do, is preparing for next year's municipal administration by linking the main policies and pledges of the 9th popular election with a specific business plan and budget.

The city announced on the 29th that it will hold a '2027 Major Business Promotion Plan Report' for four days from September 28 to October 6.

The briefing session will be held on September 28-29 and October 1 and 6.

This briefing session, held for the first time since the launch of the 9th popular election, will be attended by Sokcho Mayor Lee Byung-seon, Deputy Mayor Tak Yeon-mi, and bureau/department heads to review next year's key projects of all 29 departments, including business offices, the Sokcho City Facilities Management Corporation, and the Sokcho Culture and Tourism Foundation.

Major pledges and implementation plans for municipal administration issues are also discussed.

The main reporting targets included tasks to specify the city's future development direction, such as establishing a dedicated organization for Sokcho-type compact city, establishing a comprehensive development plan for Sokcho City in 2040, and promoting the designation of a special peace economic zone.

We will also check the implementation plans for projects to expand the basis for regional growth, such as the creation of the Yeongnang Lake tourist complex, development of the area near the station, and the creation of Daepo Port as a national fishing port.

Promotion directions such as the supply of public rental housing for youth closely related to civic life, the expansion of the 'starlight bus' for safe return home for youth, and a movement to maintain basic order among citizens will also be discussed.

In addition, we will also review the direction of reorganizing the organizational system to respond to changing administrative demands, such as establishing a new organization dedicated to compact cities.

In particular, the city plans to examine the priorities of each project and the appropriateness of financial investment prior to preparing the main budget for 2027, and also review ways to secure external financial resources such as national and provincial funds and public offering projects.

The purpose is to efficiently allocate limited financial resources and improve the implementation of major policies and pledges.
