Two Korean men arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery of 47 million yen six years ago Metropolitan Police Department

On the 15th, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Investigation Division 1 arrested two Korean suspects, Noh Hyung-don (29) and Kim Tae-ho (31), whose addresses and occupations are unknown, on suspicion of attempted robbery in November 2018 in Taito Ward, Tokyo. Suspect Noh has remained silent, and suspect Kim has denied the charges.

According to the department, five people fled the scene of the incident. The two main perpetrators were arrested immediately and deported from the country.

Since the two suspects left the country through Narita Airport, they were placed on international arrest warrants through the International Criminal Police Organization (ICPO). Both suspects were captured in South Korea, where they had fled, and were extradited based on the Japan-South Korea extradition treaty.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of pepper spraying two men, including a Chinese national and an executive of a precious metals purchasing company, on a street in Matsugaya, Taito Ward, around 1:20 p.m. on November 12, 2018, and attempting to rob them of approximately 47 million yen in cash.
