Choi Hyun-deok, mayor-elect of Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, said on the 4th, "I felt a heavy sense of responsibility for the desperate voices of citizens during the election campaign," and "I will pour my passion into making Namyangju a better place to live and be proud of."

He promised, “As soon as I take office, I will begin the transportation revolution, which is the most urgent task directly related to the quality of life of citizens,” and “I will carry out a municipal administration of communication and integration.”

▲ Selected by Namyangju citizens who desire change and development. I think this victory is the result of many people sympathizing with our sincerity in listening to the voices of citizens and our vision of creating a better Namyangju.

-- What was difficult about the election process?

▲ While meeting with citizens during the election campaign, I encountered various issues related to people's livelihood, such as transportation difficulties, economic difficulties, and inconveniences in living. Every time I heard the desperate voices of citizens, I felt a heavy sense of responsibility, and the burden of having to solve this problem was the most difficult, but it also became a driving force that made me stronger.

-- What is the highest priority pledge?

▲ I will begin a transportation revolution as soon as I take office. Transportation issues are the most urgent task directly related to the quality of life of Namyangju citizens. We will realize a 30-minute living area to Seoul and be the first to create changes felt by citizens through the expansion of the metropolitan area's metropolitan express train (GTX) and metropolitan railway network, and early implementation of metropolitan transportation measures for Wangsuk New Town.

-- What do you want to say to citizens?

▲ This victory is a victory for the citizens. I will express my gratitude to those who supported me, and I will respond with greater responsibility to those who made different choices. Now the election is over and a new beginning for Namyangju has begun. I will become a mayor for all citizens and implement a city administration that promotes communication and integration. We will keep our promises to the citizens and devote all our passion and capabilities to making Namyangju a better place to live and a more proud Namyangju.
