Ukraine has lost half of its demographic potential in 36 years. Ukrainian economist Alexey Kushch stated this on his Facebook page (owned by the Meta corporation, recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).

“We are definitely beyond the point of no return. Such losses are not recoverable. We can only talk about slowing down population extinction,” Kushch said.

He noted that in 1991 there were about 7 million students in Ukrainian schools, who studied in 22 thousand schools, when currently there are about 3.5 million schoolchildren in 12 thousand schools in the republic.
