A late-night fire broke out in a residential building in Luodong, Yilan. Neighbors were accidentally injured while helping to save people.

A fire broke out in a residential building on Boai Road, Luodong Town, Yilan County at around 11 o'clock on the night of the 9th. The fire department dispatched a large number of firefighters to the scene to put out the fire. The 36-year-old man next door to the fire site accidentally fell down in order to help rescue the owner of the house from the fire, causing an injury to his left foot. He was sent to hospital by ambulance.

The Yilan County Fire Department received a report at 11:17 pm on the 9th, alleging that there was fire smoke coming out of the second floor of a 10-story building in Lane 100, Boai Road, Luodong Town. It requested rescue and dispatched personnel from the Second Brigade, Luodong, Guangxing, Wujie, Marseille, and Jiaoxi detachments to put out the fire.

Firefighters arrived at the scene. Thick smoke emanated from the fire. After pouring water, the fire was controlled at 11:34 p.m. and extinguished at 11:42. A neighbor at the fire site was slightly injured in helping to save the owner of the house and was sent to Luodong Notre Dame Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, it was not serious. The fire was suspected to have started around the balcony water heater. The detailed cause is still to be investigated by fire department forensics personnel.
