Hunan takes multiple measures to promote charity culture and let the new trend of virtue and charity spread across Hunan and four rivers

China News Service, Changsha, September 5th (Pei Ling) September 5th is the 11th "China Charity Day". Focusing on the theme of "Promoting Charity Culture and Practicing Charity to Benefit the People" determined by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Hunan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs mobilized the province's civil affairs system and charity organizations to carry out extensive publicity activities, so that the new trend of advocating morality and doing good will blow across the three Hunan and four rivers.

From August 31st to September 6th, thematic promotion activities were fully launched on Changsha Metro Line 6. Charity-themed check-in and quiz activities were carried out simultaneously. Citizens could redeem cultural and creative gifts by collecting 11 likes. The subway flash mob promotion spread love and goodwill in every corner of the city.

In the 13th "China Charity Award" selection, the Hunan One Person One Project won the award. Xu Jin'e, Party branch secretary and president of the Miluo City Ai Xing Tian Xia Volunteer Association, won the "Charity Model" award. She has devoted herself to charity for 42 years and personally provided "one-on-one" support to 68 needy students. She established the Ai Xing Tian Xia Volunteer Association, developed more than 3,000 volunteers, and served more than 100,000 people. The "Children Enjoy Sunshine·Guardian Program for Children in Distress" implemented by Hunan Provincial Leshan Social Work Development Center won the "Charitable Project and Charitable Trust" award. In the past eight years, the project has invested a total of 18.652 million yuan, served 84,000 children in need, and established more than 9,200 precise service files.

At present, there are 834 charitable organizations in the province, raising an average of more than 2 billion yuan in funds and materials every year, implementing more than 3,000 projects, and helping more than 5 million people. There are more than 3,800 community charity funds in the province, more than 3,200 community charity projects have been implemented, a total of 134 million yuan in donations and materials have been raised, and more than 3 million people have been served. The "Love Changes Destiny" charity student aid program initiated by the Hunan Charity Federation has been running for 24 consecutive years, raising a total of 946 million yuan and supporting 280,500 college freshmen.

In February this year, Tan Yueyan and Wei Zhensheng, 89-year-old retired cadres from the Department of Natural Resources of Hunan Province, donated all their savings of 2 million yuan to the Provincial Charity Federation to establish the "Shanshi Charity Fund." In mid-to-late May, 36 counties in eight cities and prefectures, including Changde, Zhangjiajie, and Xiangxi Prefecture, suffered heavy rains and floods. Under the guidance of the Hunan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, the Provincial Charity Federation immediately launched an initiative. Lens Technology and Wasion Holdings each donated 1 million yuan. Yanjin Shop dispatched 8,408 boxes of food to the hardest-hit towns under starry night. Charity organizations across the province acted quickly to build a solid defense line for people's livelihood at the fastest speed and in the warmest temperature.

During this year's "China Charity Day", Hunan further deepened the "Five Progress" activities of charity culture, promoted charity into villages, communities, institutions, enterprises and families, relied on community charity funds, charity supermarkets and other carriers to serve people in need, and advocated a family tradition of advocating virtue and philanthropy.

In recent years, Hunan has always adhered to the rule of law to protect good deeds and protect trust with the power of sunshine. It has promulgated the "Several Provisions of Hunan Province on the Implementation of the Charity Law of the People's Republic of China", formulated information disclosure guidelines for charitable organizations, community charity development guidance and other supporting documents, and deeply implemented the "Sunshine Charity" project, so that every love can run in the sun and every donation can withstand testing.
