September 5 this year is China’s 11th “China Charity Day”. According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, since the "14th Five-Year Plan" (2021 to 2025), all sectors of society have donated more than 20 billion yuan to support emergency rescue and recovery and reconstruction of various major natural disasters.

In addition to supporting disaster relief, various charitable forces play an active role in more areas of people's livelihood. According to statistics, charitable organizations across the country spend about 150 billion yuan every year, which is used to care for the "old and young" and "the disabled and the poor", as well as education, medical care, rural revitalization and other aspects.

In addition, with the advancement of technology and the popularity of the Internet, more and more people are accustomed to doing charity at their fingertips. Since the "14th Five-Year Plan", a total of 76 billion people have donated 170 billion yuan through 32 online platforms designated by the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

From the perspective of donation forms, in recent years, charitable donations have been expanding from mainly funds to equity, real estate, and intellectual property rights, expanding the scope of charitable resources.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs will also organize special rectifications with relevant departments, conduct comprehensive physical examinations in the field of public welfare and charity, build a comprehensive charity supervision mechanism, and initially form a comprehensive supervision pattern with cross-field and cross-department horizontal linkage. The awareness and ability of various charity entities to perform good deeds in accordance with the law will be further enhanced, and the credibility of charity will be effectively enhanced.
