MOSCOW, September 14 - RIA Novosti. The number of pre-vocational classes in the Moscow region increased from 2.5 to 3.5 thousand this academic year, an increase of more than 40%, reports the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Moscow Region.
“Three out of four graduates of pre-professional classes enter universities on a budget - this is a direct result of the fact that children decide on a profession long before graduation. Today, such classes operate in 98% of schools in the Moscow region, more than 65 thousand high school students study in them, and the number of partners - universities, colleges, enterprises - has doubled over the year, to 960. From this year, we have a single standard, which includes joint implementation of extracurricular activities programs with partners and elective courses, preparation of project work on the profile,” noted the vice-governor of the region Lyudmila Bolataeva, her words are quoted by the press service.
She added that this helps schoolchildren build an educational trajectory and consciously choose their future profession.
The highest percentage of budget receipts was demonstrated by graduates of medical classes - 83%. During classes at school, children not only study biology and chemistry in depth, but also conduct their own research in the field of health care. Also in terms of the percentage of receipts for the budget were graduates of IT and engineering classes - 81% and 80%, respectively.
As for the Unified State Examination, graduates of engineering classes received the highest marks. They passed physics on average 10 points higher than students in other regions of the country, and specialized mathematics - six points. Medical students in the Unified State Exam in biology exceeded the national average by eight points, and by four points in chemistry. And graduates of IT classes passed specialized mathematics on average five points better than eleventh-graders in Russia.

The number of applications for admission to Russian agricultural universities increased by a third over the year and reached 740 thousand. The increase in popularity is associated with high salaries in the industry, technology development and personnel shortages.

More than 422 thousand foreign students from 182 countries study at Russian universities, said Deputy Head of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky. He clarified that the numbers may increase due to the continuation of the 2026 admissions campaign.
