Algerian Mohamed Belloumi, son of the legend, who is making his way in the English Premier League

From Ghaly Camp Club, then Mouloudia Oran, through the Portuguese League, Algerian winger Mohamed Belloumi arrived in the English Premier League, where he is experiencing a new experience with Hull City.

Muhammad Bachir Belloumi was born on June 1, 2002 in the Algerian city of Mascara. He grew up in a family whose name was historically linked to Algerian football. His father, Lakhdar Belloumi, was one of the most prominent “Greens” stars in the 1980s generation.

Belloumi began his football career in the Ghaly Camp academy in 2012, before moving to Mouloudia Oran in 2020. There he got his first opportunity with the first team, and succeeded in making an early impression, scoring three goals and assisting four others during 31 matches in his first season.

Algeria was only the starting point in the player’s journey; In February 2022, Bellomi moved to the Portuguese club Farenzi, where he started with the under-23 team, before making his way to the first team.

His Portuguese experience was an important turning point in his career. In the 2023-2024 season, Bellomi became one of the important offensive elements for Farenzi, scoring seven goals and making five more during 32 matches, attracting the interest of clubs outside Portugal.

In August 2024, Bellomi took a new step in his career by moving to English club Hull City for 5.5 million euros, with a four-year contract.

After recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury that Belloumi suffered in November 2024, the Algerian winger participated in 25 matches, and contributed to Hull City winning the playoff to the English Premier League.

It did not take long for the Algerian player to attract attention in England. He won the Hull City Player of the Year award during September 2024, and also won the Goal of the Month award at the club during the same period.

Belloumi plays on the wing, especially on the right side, despite his reliance on his left foot, which gives him the ability to enter deep, dribble, and shoot, in addition to creating opportunities for his teammates.

Bellomi was present in one of Hull City's most important moments during the 2025-2026 season, when he helped the team qualify for the Premier League promotion play-off final.

In the match against Millwall in the semi-finals, the Algerian player came on as a substitute, and he only needed a few minutes to leave his mark, by scoring one goal and assisting another, so Bellomi led the Hull City team to win with two clean goals and qualify for the final match.

After the team's success in clinching the playoff, Bloomy found himself with the opportunity to play in the highest levels of English football.

Bellomi entered the 2026-27 season as a Premier League player, and quickly began to prove that he could handle the new level of competition.
