The governments of Belarus and Russia will report to the presidents on integration in December

MINSK, September 30 - RIA Novosti. The governments of Belarus and Russia plan to report to the presidents in December on the implementation of the plan to deepen integration between the countries for 2024-2026, said Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin.

On Wednesday he is holding a meeting in Minsk with State Secretary of the Union State Sergei Glazyev. The meeting takes place on the eve of the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State, which will take place on October 1 in Minsk.

“We still have a number of tasks to solve before the end of the year... There is something to work on fruitfully in order to report to our presidents in December that the absolute majority of our plans have been completed,” said the head of the Belarusian government. Among them, in particular, he named topics related to agricultural policy in the Union State and digital signature.

“I am glad to welcome you in Minsk on the eve of the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State. The agenda has been formed, 15 issues,” Turchin told Glazyev.

He noted that the main topic of the meeting of the Union Council of Ministers will be the implementation of the main directions for implementing the provisions of the agreement on the creation of the Union State for 2024–2026 and the preparation of a draft of a similar document for the next period. “We need to carefully consider the documents, because we will have to report them to the heads of our states at a meeting of the Supreme State Council,” Turchin said.

In general, he noted that the results of work to deepen integration over a three-year period are visible in various areas. The Prime Minister of Belarus also announced the expansion of integration processes in the Union State.

He noted that a lot of work has been done in the macroeconomic sphere, for example, a forecast of the socio-economic development of the Union State for the period up to 2028 has been developed, there has been progress in integration in the energy sector, standardization, as well as in the field of transport. According to the Prime Minister, the topic of ensuring equal rights for citizens of Belarus and Russia also remains key.
