Earlier, the Hungarian parliament voted to suspend Prime Minister Peter Magyar's parliamentary immunity at the request of the prosecutor's office due to a theft case.

“He (Magyar - ed.) himself proposed to conduct an objective investigation and was ready to remove his parliamentary immunity, based on the fact that during the proceedings the motives for provocation and attempts to discredit the politician would be revealed... This is probably a conscious decision: he expects that his willingness to demonstratively renounce his immunity will lead to an increase in popularity,” Kortunov told NEWS.ru.
