Alert in the United Kingdom: attack on the Fairford RAF base foiled

In the United Kingdom, the alert remains high after the arrests which took place on the night between 26 and 27 September of five men - British citizens, aged between 23 and 25 - accused of planning an attack in the Royal Air Force (RAF) military base in Fairford, a village of 3 thousand inhabitants in Gloucestershire. The complex has for years been shared with the United States which during operations in Iran used the runway for take-off of B-1 and B-52 bombers.
