Flood disaster in India and Nepal: 70 dead

Floods and landslides occurred following heavy rainfall in India and Nepal. Authorities announced that 56 people died in the landslide in India and 14 people in Nepal, and 11 people were missing.

Noting that the casualties were seen in the state of Uttar Pradesh in the north of the country, the authorities reported that 46 people were injured and more than a thousand houses were damaged in various parts of the country.

RESCUE EFFORTS CONTINUE

It was reported that while education was suspended in schools across the state, efforts to rescue those stranded in flood-affected areas continued.

In Nepal, where a total of 14 people lost their lives, 4 people, including 3 children, died as a result of a house being buried under the ground in Baglung province. Additionally, 10 Nepali workers were reported missing. Nepalese officials warned that floods may occur in 49 of the country's 77 provinces.
