In Moldova they said that the increase in housing and communal services tariffs is leading the country to bankruptcy

The rise in housing and communal services tariffs is driving the residents of Moldova into a corner and leading the country to bankruptcy. This development of events was predicted by the vice-speaker of parliament from the opposition Party of Socialists, Vlad Batryncha, as quoted by RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the National Energy Regulatory Agency (NARE) of Moldova sharply increased the tariff on natural gas for household consumers. The tariff was raised to 26.14 lei per cubic meter (about 1.48 dollars at the current exchange rate). The established level was 28.8 percent higher than the current value.

Against the backdrop of rising prices, the opposition staged another protest at the building of the energy regulator ANRE. As Batryncha stated, people simply do not have the money to pay the growing bills, and demanded the resignation of the leadership of the regulator, the government and the president.
