Former CIA Director of Russia Analysis Warns of Ukraine's Possible Exit from Conflict Under Pressure

Former CIA director of Russia analysis George Beebe said Ukraine could come under such pressure that it would have to decide to withdraw from the conflict.

The analyst emphasized that Ukraine's Western allies, seeing the prospect of its defeat, may begin to act hastily, which could lead to a direct conflict between the West and Russia.

MOSCOW, September 29 – RIA Novosti. Soon, Ukraine may have to decide to leave the conflict, former CIA Director of Russia Analysis George Beebe said on his YouTube channel.

“We are probably moving towards a situation where Ukraine will be under much stronger pressure. <…> One of the options for getting out of this situation is to tell the West: “Uncle, you know, things are going badly for us economically, politically, and militarily, so we need to get out of this right now,” he noted.

But, according to Beebe, the situation may begin to develop in a different scenario.

“In such circumstances, people can panic. Thus, Ukraine’s Western allies, seeing the prospect of its defeat, may begin to act on the principle “something must be done.” For example, in the United States there are already voices calling for exactly this: “Let’s introduce a no-fly zone over Ukraine.” And this would almost inevitably lead to a direct conflict between the West and Russia, between NATO and Russia. And, in my opinion, this would be a disaster,” the analyst emphasized.

According to the Ministry of Defense, over the past 24 hours Russian troops have liberated the settlements of Ulanovo in the Sumy region and Novovodyanoye in the DPR. At the same time, they are compressing the encirclement ring in the northeast of the Kharkov region.

The enemy lost 1,350 troops, 88 military vehicles, 14 tanks and other armored vehicles, as well as seven field artillery pieces and mortars.
