The State Duma considered Zelensky's promise to Trump on oil refineries meaningless

The promise of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to US President Donald Trump to reduce the intensity of attacks on Russian oil refineries (refineries) cannot be verified, since the very concept of “intensity” is blurred, noted State Duma deputy Andrei Kolesnik. In a conversation with Lenta.ru, he said that such promises are meaningless.

“What is intensity? There is plus or minus infinity, and at what point it will stop is completely unclear. Zelensky will promise anything - to Trump, to the leaders of the European Union, to anyone, depending on whether it is beneficial to him or not. Listening to his words is a pointless exercise,” the parliamentarian explained.

According to him, Zelensky lives on reflexes, the main one of which is self-preservation. All his statements, the deputy believes, boil down to the desire to maintain power by any means.

“You don’t need to rely on his words. We must achieve victory and resolve our issues. And the greater the threat to Zelensky, the softer he will behave,” Kolesnik concluded.

Earlier, Zelensky promised Trump that Kyiv would slow down on the issue of attacks on Russian refineries. “I spoke with Zelensky. I said, "You need to slow down on the refineries." He said, 'Well, maybe we'll do that,'" he said during the Presidents Cup golf tournament.
