Seocho-gu creates a garden connected between Yangjae Citizen's Forest Station and Yeouicheon in celebration of the Seoul International Garden Expo.

Seocho-gu, Seoul (Chief Jeon Seong-su) announced on the 28th that it had created a connected garden in the area between Yangjae Citizen's Forest Station and Yeouicheon and renovated the waterside space in celebration of the Seoul International Garden Expo held at Maeheon Citizen's Forest from October 1 to 27.

This expo will be held under the theme of ‘Seoul, Green Culture Citizen’s Garden’.

Maeheon Citizen's Forest, celebrating its 40th anniversary, presents the garden culture created, filled, and continued by citizens.

A total of 51 gardens will be created, including 4 writer gardens, 6 corporate institution gardens, 5 student gardens, 5 citizen gardens, 1 Seoul citizen gardener garden, 5 local government gardener gardens, and 25 autonomous district gardener gardens. The opening ceremony will be held on October 1 at 5 p.m.

In order to spread the garden atmosphere inside and outside the expo site, the district reorganized Maeheon-ro and Mabang Neighborhood Park's street green zone into gardens with Seocho's unique colors, and installed hanging flower pots at Yeoui 1 Bridge and Yeoui Bridge.

A modular garden containing the colors of this expo was created around Yangjae Citizen's Forest Station and Yeouicheon Sowon Cafe, allowing visitors to see the garden on their way to and from the expo site.

Outdoor tea tables and design benches were placed in the Yeouicheon waterfront space.

At this expo, 30 Seocho gardeners will create a garden using the Taegeuk symbol in the autonomous district garden with the theme of ‘Holding Hands’.

Maeheon Citizen's Forest and Seocho Garden Center in Maljukgeori Park run programs where residents can experience garden culture.

In the Yangjaecheon area, the garden-themed ‘Yangjae Art Salon’ and performances by young people are held.

District Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, "We are preparing so that people can enjoy the charm of gardens and relax not only at the expo but also in various surrounding areas. Together with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, we will take great care to make this an event where citizens can safely and comfortably enjoy garden culture."
