Seoul Metropolitan Government, 8 participants of ‘Humanities of Hope’ for vulnerable groups participate in marathon

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 6th that eight participants of 'Humanities of Hope', which targets vulnerable groups such as the homeless, participated in the 10km event of 'V Run Marathon 2026' held in the Anyangcheon area on the 5th.

The Seoul Bridge Comprehensive Support Center recruited marathon participants from those who participated in 'Pass of Hope', a soccer class operated as one of the humanities courses of hope, and 8 people expressed their intention to participate.

The center had seven facility workers and public officials in charge run alongside the participants to help them complete the race. Nurses from the center also served as marathon assistants to check the health status of participants in advance and prepare for emergency situations.

Humanities of Hope is a project promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to restore self-esteem and support self-reliance in vulnerable groups such as the homeless, and this year, more than 1,000 people are participating.

Jeong Jin-woo, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Welfare Department, said, "I would like to applaud those who do not lose their will and try to make their lives better even in the most difficult conditions," and added, "We will continue to cheer and support them so that they can overcome difficult conditions and run again."
