The White House is discussing introducing a ban on the export of diesel fuel from the United States for a period of 90 days in order to bring down record-breaking prices ahead of the November midterm elections. The publication's interlocutors note that the ban is being worked out legally in the context of disagreements over the project both with the oil industry and within the administration of the head of the United States, but its introduction could be announced by the end of this week, which could become the first restriction on energy exports since President Barack Obama lifted the ban on oil exports in 2015.
