A man broke into the lounge with a knife and took a Cathay Pacific intern hostage. The Aviation Police Bureau received a report at 5:15 pm. The scene of the crime was an employee lounge and was not a controlled area of ​​a terminal. When the police arrived at the scene first, they found that the man involved was holding a knife and confronting people. At about 5:50 pm, the Perak team seized the opportunity to launch an attack. They quickly entered the lounge and sprayed pepper spray on the man before subduing him and successfully rescued the kidnapped Cathay Pacific intern.

The kidnapped person suffered a cut on his right hand and was sent to Lianxin Medical Center for treatment after being treated by on-site doctors. It is understood that the man involved was also injured while being subdued by the police. He has been taken back to the criminal police team for further questioning and then sent to the hospital.
