The Miaoli County Government has promoted the "new right bank waterproof road project in conjunction with the drainage of Tuniu River (Zhengxing Road to the highway connection road)". Its urban plan changes have been officially approved by the Ministry of the Interior, and the land acquisition and project construction will continue in the future. The county government stated that the total project cost is approximately 297 million yuan and is expected to be completed in 2029 to improve drainage and flood control safety in the Toufen area.

The county government stated that Tuniu River drainage is located in Toufen City, with a total length of about 12 kilometers and a water collection area of ​​about 11.94 square kilometers. It is an important water collection system in the middle and lower reaches of Zhonggang River. As urban development and transportation construction in the Toufen area continue to advance, regional drainage, flood control and disaster prevention needs are increasing day by day.
