Combining inference-specialized NPU with heterogeneous computing… Power efficiency and cost savings

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kwon Ha-young = Rebellion is joining hands with Japanese AI infrastructure company 'ai&' to target the local inference infrastructure market in Japan.

Rebellion announced on the 16th that it has signed a partnership with AI& and will build its product 'Rebellac' on AI&'s heterogeneous infrastructure.

Through this, companies, government agencies, and developers in Japan will be able to use the Rebellion solution-based inference infrastructure locally.

ai& plans to introduce Rebellion infrastructure in the Tokyo data center from the initial quantity and then expand Revelac to more than 100 units.

ai& operates a heterogeneous infrastructure model that combines different computing resources according to AI workload characteristics, and Rebellion supports inference resource placement and service configuration by adding an inference-specific architecture that focuses on power efficiency and operating cost reduction.

The first system is expected to be operational on the day of delivery.

AI&, which has secured infrastructure investment of more than $2 billion, aims to operate five sites by the end of this year and secure a capacity of 40 megawatts (MW) by the end of next year.
