Audi A2 e-tron: premium efficiency is renewed

Efficiency. Password for electric cars, the pillar on which the new direction of Ingolstadt's electron-powered compact cars rests. It is led by the Audi A2 e-tron, which makes efficiency its cornerstone without compromising technology, quality and the premium status that distinguishes the cars of the Four Rings.

Size and design

The new electric from the German brand takes up the streamline silhouette of the model of which it is the spiritual heir. This has allowed us to reach an aerodynamic coefficient of 0.24, thus maximizing efficiency while the 2.77 m wheelbase offers a spacious environment despite its compact dimensions. The length is 4.32 metres, with a particularly distinctive front characterized by an elegant black panel that integrates light clusters and driving assistance sensors, while also paying homage to the 1999 model. To promote efficiency, the new A2 e-tron boasts some specific solutions, such as the air curtains on the wheel arches or the special slits near the wheel arch mouldings. At the front there is also an active air intake.

Interior and technology of the new Audi A2 e-tron

The interiors combine a welcoming environment with high-quality materials and rational, tech solutions. The dashboard combines the 11.9'' Audi Virtual cockpit with a 12.8'' curved touch screen oriented towards the driver. Added to this is the optional head-up display with augmented reality. The latest generation MMI infotainment system also includes the new AI voice assistant while the interiors are made even more welcoming and comfortable by the possibility of choosing from over 30 different combinations for the ambient lights. Added to this is the optional panoramic roof. The trunk of the A2 e-tron guarantees 396 liters of load capacity which becomes 1,336 if the rear seats are folded down. On the more powerful versions, the 13-litre front frunk is also available, useful for storing the charging cable.

Engine, batteries, autonomy

Based on an evolution of the MEB platform, the compact electric car from the Four Rings has a powertrain with a latest generation permanent magnet synchronous motor with very high efficiency. It is available in four power levels, 125, 140, 170 and 240 kW with three different battery sizes, 52, 61 or 84 kWh. In the first two cases the accumulator has an LFP chemistry while for the 84 kWh battery it is NMC, Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt. The autonomy, depending on the version, reaches up to 646 km. All variants of the Audi A2 e-tron have rear-wheel drive. Fast charging reaches up to 183 kW to go from 10 to 80% in 26 minutes while the on board charger is 11 kW. Also present are Vehicle-to-Load and Vehicle-to-Home.

Price and deliveries

Designed for Europe and developed with faster processes than the standard times of previous models, the new Audi A2 e-tron also offers sustainability from a production and materials point of view, with over 300 recycled components. It will have a starting price of 38,350 euros and will arrive on the road in the first months of 2027 with a clear objective, an even more accessible premium electron mobility.
