Typhoon Shuliki intensifies into a moderate typhoon, Okinawa flights affected

Typhoon Shuliji will intensify into a moderate typhoon tonight (26th), turning north and heading towards the sea south of Japan. The weather in Okinawa and other places will also be affected. Tomorrow, long waves will occur on Hanlan Island, Green Island, and the Hengchun Peninsula along the eastern half of Taiwan.

Typhoon Shuliki intensified into a moderate typhoon at 8 o'clock tonight, with a central pressure of 975 hPa. The center is located at 23.3 degrees north latitude and 127 degrees east longitude, which is 330 kilometers south-south-west of Naha and 590 kilometers southeast-east of Taipei. It moves from north-northeast to northeast at a speed of 16 kilometers per hour.

The maximum wind speed near the center of Typhoon Shuliji is 33 meters per second, which is equivalent to Category 12 winds. The radius of Category 7 storm winds is 100 kilometers, and the radius of Category 10 storm winds is 40 kilometers. The Meteorological Administration also reminded that ships sailing and operating in the sea near Ryukyu should pay special attention and listen to the latest updates on Typhoon Shuliki at any time.

Affected by Typhoon Shuliji, China Airlines flights CI122/CI123 from Taoyuan to Okinawa and CI132/CI133 from Kaohsiung to Okinawa tomorrow (27th) have been advanced. China Airlines will continue to update flight information based on changes in the typhoon's path.
