A new kitchen knife found in the murder of a woman in Ota, Gunma; suspect says, ``I prepared it.''

It was revealed on the 29th that an additional kitchen knife was found near the crime scene of the murder of resident Yuka Tezuka (52) in a private house in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, according to interviews with investigators. A bloody kitchen knife was found at the scene so far, and prefectural police are conducting a detailed investigation, believing that both knives were used as the murder weapon.

On the same day, prefectural police sent the suspect, Nozomi Mihara (30), of Iseyama-cho, Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture, whose occupation is unknown, to the prosecutor's office on suspicion of attempting to murder Tezuka's eldest son (26). The suspect is the ex-husband of Tezuka's eldest daughter (28).

According to investigators, the newly discovered knife was found on the side of the road near Tezuka's house, and there were signs that it had been used in the incident. Mihara reportedly made statements that hinted at murder, saying, ``I prepared a kitchen knife to kill Mr. Tezuka and his eldest son.''

The incident occurred on the 25th. Tezuka was found bleeding in his home, and his eldest son had also been slashed. Mihara was placed on public wanted list for fleeing in his socks, and was arrested on the 27th with his clothes on. Shoes believed to have been worn by the suspect were also found on the premises.
