The search for four sailors has resumed after a fire on the Triumph ship off Kamchatka

On Sunday morning, the search for four sailors who disappeared in a fire on the Triumph ship off the coast of Kamchatka resumed.

There is still smoke on the Triumph, and the whereabouts of four crew members have not been established.

The investigation is considering three versions of the cause of the fire: a technical malfunction of the ship's electrical equipment, a violation of fire safety rules and a violation of technical operation rules.

P.-KAMCHATSKY, September 27 – RIA Novosti. On Sunday morning, the search for four sailors who disappeared in a fire on the Triumph ship off the coast of Kamchatka resumed; rescuers continue to observe smoke from the seiner, the Kamchatka branch of the Maritime Rescue Service told RIA Novosti.

“The rescue ship Suvorovets continued the search for the missing crew members that began yesterday. The water area is also inspected by passing ships. The smoke on the Triumph does not stop,” the service said.

According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Kamchatka Territory, on the evening of September 25, a fishing vessel with 29 crew members on board caught fire in the Pacific Ocean east of Cape Khodzhelaika. During the rescue operation, 25 people were evacuated. Four were hospitalized, two of them in serious condition. The whereabouts of four more sailors have not been established.

A criminal case was initiated under an article on violation of traffic safety rules and operation of maritime transport.
