US President Donald Trump has publicly rejected Iran's proposal for the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Iran is waiting for the mediators to give the US a final response to Iran's proposals, and any progress on the issue of opening the Strait of Hormuz depends on the US fulfilling Iranian conditions.

TEHRAN, September 27 - RIA Novosti. Iran is waiting for a final US response from the mediators to Iran's proposals on the Strait of Hormuz, despite the fact that US President Donald Trump has publicly rejected them, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said.

US President Donald Trump said he rejected Iran's proposal for the Strait of Hormuz. Prior to this, Araqchi reported that Tehran, through intermediaries, handed over to Washington a seven-day plan to open the Strait of Hormuz.

“We saw the first reaction of the US President, but nothing was transferred to us through intermediaries,” said Araqchi, whose commentary was published by Iranian media on his Telegram channel.

The Iranian minister added that the US President makes many contradictory statements.

“We are waiting for the final point of view (on the proposals - ed.) from the mediators, and on this basis we will make decisions,” the Iranian diplomat added.

He said that any progress on opening the Strait of Hormuz depends on the US meeting Iranian conditions for this.
