Low turnout in the by-elections in the Reggio Calabria-Locri constituency: only 10.26% at 7pm

The turnout recorded at 7pm for the by-elections for the Chamber in constituency 5 Reggio Calabria-Locri was 10.26%. At the same time as four years ago, for the national political elections in September 2022, 35.48% of eligible voters had voted. It should also be underlined that the percentage of voters is calculated on the basis of all eligible voters, who are 345,788, but among these 58,729 - around 17% - are resident abroad. The municipality of the constituency where the most votes were cast is Laganadi (29.43% in the two sections present), the one where the least votes were cast is Platì (5 sections), with just 1.59%. At 12 the turnout was 3.43%, another figure down compared to 4 years ago when 11.87% was recorded. Voting takes place in Reggio and in 70 other municipalities in the province today, until 11pm, and tomorrow, Monday 28 September, from 7am to 3pm. Immediately after the counting.

The candidates

Four candidates are competing for the seat in Montecitorio: Fabio Roscioli of Forza Italia, candidate for the centre-right; Domenico Giannetta of Futuro Nazionale (his candidacy represents the first test for General Vannacci's party).
