Wang Ji Jiangdu - History and Culture Exhibition of the Jiangdu Kingdom of the Han Dynasty opens in Nanchang

China News Service, Nanchang, September 23 (Reporter Li Yunhan) "Wang Ji Jiangdu - History and Culture Exhibition of the Jiangdu Kingdom of the Han Dynasty" opened at the Han Dynasty Haihun Marquis Ruins Museum in Nanchang on the 23rd. A total of more than 200 pieces/sets of cultural relics are on display, comprehensively showing the history and culture of the Jiangdu Kingdom of the Western Han Dynasty.

From September 2009 to December 2012, with the approval of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage of China, archaeological experts conducted a comprehensive exploration and rescue excavation of the Dayunshan Han Tomb Area in Xuyi County, Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province, revealing a relatively complete tomb of King Jiangdu of the Western Han Dynasty. More than 10,000 pieces/sets of bronzes, gold and silverware, jade, lacquerware, pottery and other types of cultural relics were unearthed. Many cultural relics were discovered for the first time.

Liu He, the Marquis of Haihun, and Liu Fei, the King of Jiangdu, both belong to the Western Han royal family. Liu He is the grandson of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty Liu Che, and Liu Fei is the son of Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty and the half-brother of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty Liu Che. A large number of exquisite cultural relics have been unearthed from their tombs.

"The era in which King Jiangdu lived was the period of Wenjing's rule in the history of the Western Han Dynasty, which is consistent with the era in which Liu He lived." Peng Yinkan, director of the Han Dynasty Haihun Marquis Site Administration Bureau in Nanchang, said that he hopes that this exhibition will help the audience understand the historical process of the Western Han Dynasty from the rule of Wenjing to a powerful period, as well as the gradual formation and development of the etiquette system of the Han Dynasty.

Zhang Jinping, deputy director of the Nanjing Museum, said that although King Jiangdu and Marquis Haihun were geographically far apart, they were part of the Han dynasty. Archaeological materials from the two places jointly present the life, rituals and craftsmanship of the princes of the Han Dynasty. It is hoped that the two museums will continue to cooperate in exhibitions, talent training, cultural relic protection and restoration, and academic research in the future to further activate the collection resources.

According to reports, this exhibition is co-sponsored by the Han Dynasty Haihun Marquis Site Museum in Nanchang and the Nanjing Museum. It is divided into five parts: "Zhiyun Yunshan", "Che Yi Yuanchi", "Tune of Eight Tones", "Military Fashion" and "Fanlu Ring Wearing". From etiquette to life to spirit, it presents the audience with a three-dimensional view of the institutional etiquette and life scenes of the Han Dynasty.
