Incheon Coast Guard chief found dead at residence, police investigation launched

Incheon Coast Guard Chief Yang Jong-ta was found dead at his official residence, and the police launched an investigation.

According to the Incheon Western Police Station and the Incheon Coast Guard on the 28th, at 9:05 a.m. on this day, a report was received through 112 that Chief Yang was not breathing at an apartment in Cheongna-dong, Seohae-gu.

It is understood that Coast Guard employees visited Chief Yang's official residence when he did not show up for work that day, and reported Chief Yang after finding him collapsed.

When the police arrived at the scene, it was confirmed that Chief Yang was already dead.

The police plan to decide whether to conduct an autopsy, keeping in mind the possibility that the death was caused by a chronic illness such as myocardial infarction.

A police official said, "There are no criminal charges confirmed so far."
