Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 suffers intense vibrations during attempted flight in Iran

A Boeing 737 from the Iranian company Sepehran Airlines suffered strong vibrations during an attempted flight between Mashhad, in northeastern Iran, and Kermanshah, in the west of the country, on Monday (14). Images taken by passengers show parts of the cabin's interior lining coming loose during the incident. Nobody was injured.

The first reports released by the Iranian press stated that the aircraft took off and returned shortly afterwards to Mashhad airport. Hassan Jafari, spokesman for the airport administration in Razavi Khorasan province, told state news agency IRNA that the pilot reported an emergency situation involving one of the engines. According to him, the tread on one of the tires also came off during the match.

Later information, however, presents a different sequence. The specialized website AeroInside, citing the Iranian civil aviation authority, states that the crew interrupted the takeoff while still on the runway after the Boeing presented intense vibrations. According to the report, the investigation attributed the oscillations to a problem in a component of the main landing gear responsible for dampening vibrations.

The images show passengers trying to hold on to parts of the cabin's upper lining as the aircraft shakes. Despite the intensity of the vibrations and the damage inside the plane, no injuries were reported.
