Brandizzo, the preliminary hearing begins: controversy due to the logistical problems of the court

"We got off to a bad start. The classrooms are not up to par and there has already been a postponement of the next hearing to the end of October. It's not what we expected."

Thus Edoardo Aversa, the brother of Giuseppe, one of the five workers who died on the tracks of the Brandizzo station, in the Turin area, this morning as he left the courthouse in Ivrea after the first preliminary hearing.

"We are very saddened, this court has big space problems: we can't even see the defendants' faces - added Aversa - we asked to bring the trial together in one courtroom because continuing like this doesn't make much sense. I hope that the time will not be extended further: this first postponement just seems like a way to waste more time".
